Well, another year of Lifest under our belts this summer!!! What an awesome year!!! Last year we made the commitment of adoption. We sat in the SuperWalmart and Lauren came up with names for our baby girl. And just 365 days later we would take her to the SuperWalmart to shop.
Selamnesh did fabulous!!! What a trooper!!! I like the late shows, the ones that start at midnight. Lucky for me...Tristan is a early bird. Lauren and I would go out late to see Bands like Superchick sing about purity and being an everyday hero. Gosh I love that band!!! Then there was Toby Mac!! I never grow sick of seeing him!! But he is getting older...older than I am at least!! I think we all saw every band that we wanted too!! Tristan played Dodgeball all week, and loved it!!!
Where else can you go for a week with your children and friends and not have to worry about drugs, drinking, or rude behavior?? We had a prime camping spot across the road from out best friends, who had a French foreign exchange student. That made it allo the more fun!!!
I am SO increadibly proud to have such wonderful kids that love God with all their hearts!!

Selamnesh's first time camping
After years of camping in a tent and air mattress, I desided that Selamnesh needed to stay in a camper...........okay, maybe I used her as an excuse to buy a pop-up camper!! As the weeks aproaching our annual pilgrimage to Lifest,(a HUGE Christian music festival) I thought it wise to take the baby camping for a first time close to Grandma's house, just in case she didn't do so well....... She did FABULOUS!!!! She loved it!!! And we had a good time too!!!
Lauren and Tristan treated her to go cart rides around DaRanch!!! Weeeee!!! She has a farm, barn and animals all outside. And just wandered around the 40 acre woods...okay 20 acres. When night time came we lit fireworks, and had a bonfire. Selamnesh went to bed just like at home..........What a wonderful little girl!!!
4th of July
Where has the summer gone??? We have had such a wonderful, awesome summer. Selamnesh's first summer with us...and how she is changing every day!!!
Selamnesh's first 4th of July was extremely important to me!!! I think I started to cry early in the morning. Lauren and Tristan were with their father. So it was just Selamnesh and I which that in it's self I was sad about. Selamnesh's first 4th of July and her brother and sister weren't there..........
We went downtown to meet up with friends. We watched some bands and met up with different groups of friends. We had a wonderful time!!!
As the sun went down we sat down right on the water's edge with the same friends that we do every year. Just before the fireworks other friends joined us. Selamnesh stayed up for the beginning of the great light show..... I sat on the ground, with her in my lap. As I watched the fabulous explosions of colors I rocked my baby in my arms and sang all the patriotic songs I could think of starting with the national anthem. All the while thinking of her little life.....what freedoms did Selamnesh have that Bizunesh will never have. As her little body relaxed with sleep, I sang while tears fell on her face..........I love you baby girl!!
